Windy Wellington

I’m off for a long weekend. Hubby and I are hitting Wellington, the capital of New Zealand and also Martinborough. Some of you might recall Lily and Alex from Never Send a Dog to do a Woman’s Job visited both places…

…which, leads in nicely to the fact that I’m the Spotlight Author at Author Island today. I’m giving away a print copy of Romancing the Alien.

How are you spending your weekend?

I hope you have a great weekend. I’m spending most of mine at church or working on the computer. You post about chocolate makes me sad since I gave it up for lent. I love chocolate so Easter can’t come too quickly! I read your quickie Best Man the other night, LOVED it! Can’t wait for more of your Middle Marches! (Figure I’ve been waiting 6 years for one author’s final book in a trilogy, I can wait… maybe. But please don’t take 6 years. I may have to cry.) Hope your trip is going well and you had fun being spotlighted!
    All the best,
    -Amy W.

It’s Art Deco weekend in Napier, people come from all over the world for it.

I went to Wellington for a technical conference many years ago and we did a couple of tours between sessions. We hope to spend som time there on our next visit to NZ.

Ou friend’s funeral was on Thursday and we left Friday to spend the weekend with our younger daughter and one of our grandchildren in a caravan park at Anglesea on Victoria’s Great Ocean Road.

The caravan park is part of the beach itself, but sheltered by heavy stands of Ti-trees, so we took our granddaughter wading, playing in the shallow water of the inlet and for long walks beside the river.

It was great, we came home refreshed, and
    I’m working well today.

Hope your weekend was relaxing! I went out to a formal party on Saturday night with my best friend – she won tickets to it (a fund raiser for Kids Help Phone) and we had a ball dressing up and heading out to hob nob! And on Sunday we had a family dinner – delish and lots of visiting with everyone.

Thanks, Estella. I had a wonderful weekend!

Amy – I’m sure you’ll enjoy chocolate when you can have it again. If it’s any consolation, I’m off chocolate too. My trousers are too tight!!

Thank you!! I’m so glad you enjoyed Best Man. You’re in luck with the Middlemarch books. I’ve just sent another off to my editor so hopefully there will be two out this year.

Sara – I’ve heard about Art Deco weekend. One of my friends and I were talking about it last week. It sounds like a fun celebration.

Amy W – I loved driving along the Great Ocean road. The views are beautiful and I liked all the weathered cliffs and rocks. Very spectacular. Wellington was very hilly! Far more so than Auckland, which surprised me.

Julia – It sounds like you had a fun weekend. It’s fun dressing up sometimes.
