Blowing in the Wind.

I have a fascination with wind chimes. I love the sounds they make and find them soothing. My husband isn’t such a big fan, although a few years ago we purchased one. It’s a tiny one with elephant shapes and it doesn’t make much noise. My sister has a larger one and it’s very melodious. Wind chimes sort of remind me of the xylophones we used to have at school. I wasn’t very good at playing them – I was more a recorder girl – but I liked the sound they made.

Do you like wind chimes? Do you have any at your place?

NEWSFLASH: Tomorrow, author JA Saare is my special guest. She is currently on a blog tour promoting her four upcoming paranormal releases and is giving away a $10 book voucher. That means if you comment on my blog, you have a chance of winning her blog tour prize. She is talking about What makes a good heroine? Is it a hard-assed Buffy or a soft-spoken Bella?”

Here’s the link to the details of JA’s full blog tour plus details of her four releases.

Sounds like hubs and I. I love windchimes, he doesn’t mind them but absolutely hates one of my favorites. It is a big bamboo one, and the sound drives him batty. I always find it laying on the ground because when he is working outside, he takes it down…it irritates him that much. lol

I’m with you. I love wind chimes. I got my daughter some fairy wind chimes.

I love wind chimes. I had some that were taken down when we painted and haven’t been replaced. Need to get that done. Happy Halloween.

    Hi Shelley :)
Wind chimes remind me of my childhood.
Every summer I went to my Grampa & Grandma’s camp. They had aluminum wind chimes and their melodic melody accompanied my summers.
    :)
    Thanks for sharing,
    All the best,

I think it depends upon the chime, and the time of day. Windchimes dinging away if you’re trying to get to sleep and they’re bugging you aren’t so much fun, LOL. That said, I’ve got at least four windchimes around my place, both in my windows and outside. I love the bigger ones that are actually tuned but the little tinkly ones are pretty too.

We do have one wind chime. It is a Penn State one, that hangs on our basement door. That is my husband’s…he is a Penn State fan! Otherwise we do not have any, but they remind me of my Granny. She always had all of that stuff out, and it is fond memories that I have of her. She was a fun lady!

I love wind chimes! We have two – a large one on our back patio that chimes quite nicely.

My mom hates them. Go figure. I guess I didn’t get my love of them from her!

    I really enjoy windchimes

I love wind chimes, and oddly, no, I don’t have any here. I’ll have to get some. Looking forward to visiting with Jaime tomorrow!

Depends on the chimes. I have a set of pipe chimes in my kitchen window. I just love the sound of them when a breeze sets them ringing.

Isn’t it funny how wind chimes remind many of us of our childhood?

I too love wind chimes. I think there is something soothing about listening to the chimes on a light breezy day. After saying this, I don’t put any outside because I live in an apartment building and I don’t want to drive my neighbors crazy. I do have several hanging in my apartment, lighthouse decorated ones, that don’t make any noise since they are inside but I enjoy looking at them.

Windchime are so beautiful and I wish I had some to hear and look at.

I love wind chimes, and I have a bunch of them. Several in my house, one outside. My next acquisition will be wooden ones…I love the sound those make in particular.

Wind chimes are also one of the gifts I got my mom for Christmas…oh yeah, guess I like them. LOL

Looking forward to Jaime’s visit tomorrow!

    Hey Shelley,

I’m so glad I’m not alone and that Cari has chimes inside her home as well! We do too. They not only sound lovely, but many of them are absolutely beautiful!

Can’t wait to share on your blog tomorrow, so exciting!

I love wind chimes. I live in an apartment and I can’t have them outside but I found this really pretty one with unicorns on it and hung it in my living room.

I love windchimes as well. I prefer the big/long hollow metal ones or the wood ones. The small short ones are good too, but those can get annoying with their high pitched tinkling sound.

I love wind chimes. They sound so pretty.

    Hi Shelley,
I found that my husband and I had the same issue that you and your husband do. I love them and he just wasn’t that in to the little noise makers. BUT, I found that he likes the larger, softer toned ones. Maybe Mr. Munro would be a little more receptive to them, it takes more for the breeze to move them too, so they aren’t always making sounds the way the smaller ones do.
Bamboo ones are nice too. They remind me of a nice, cool asian garden.

    That’s my two cents…
