Things About Shelley

I received a Kreative Blogger award from Debra Kayn this week. Thanks so much, Debra!!

Kreativ Blogger Award

Now, I’m meant to list seven random things about myself – things that you might not know.

Seven Random Things About Shelley Munro

1. My all-time favorite destination to visit is India. It’s a fasinating, colorful, full-on country with friendly people, delicious food, interesting stops, white sandy beaches, lots of history. The complete holiday destination.

2. My husband and I are going to foster dogs and maybe rabbits this year. We both miss Scotty so much, and we’re not ready to replace her yet.

3. I go for a walk with hubby most days – summer and winter – after dinner. The weather has to be really bad before we forgo our walk. It’s nice chatting about our days and things we want to do or have done. We see animals and birds and the stars or a sunset. It’s all good.

4. I’m a good cook, quite capable of making just about anything, but don’t do much in the way of cooking because hubby enjoys it. Cooking relaxes him after a stressful day. I can live with that, although I need to train him to give me smaller portions this year.

5. I work better with a routine and schedule. Things coming out of left-field throw me off stride and upset my day.

6. I get irritated when my husband keeps beating my Wii scores. Yep, I confess. I’m a bad loser when it comes to the Wii.

7. Tomato sauce is one of my favorite condiments. It’s the best invention ever. Freshly ground black pepper is also acceptable.

This month I’m doing an online course with Allison Brennan via the Kiss of Death chaper. The class is called Breaking Rules to Break In or Break Out. I figure I might as well get in the mood and do things my way, so instead of following the rules, I’m going to make my own. We’ll go random.

Tell me two random things about yourself.

Hmm, 2 random things about me…ok
I Love rodents. Almost any little furry animal will melt my heart. I think rats are the cutest animal alive.

I love cooking. I like following recipes and making something new for my family to try but my favorite food is still mexican food.

  2. Maria Zannini

I still grieve for you and your hubby. Scotty was a great dog.

    2 random things:

    1. When I was very little, the nuns forced me to use only my right hand even though I was left handed. Even today, I hold my implements as if I had some sort of palsy. I simply can’t hold them correctly in my right hand.

    2. I see dead people.

  3. Jenyfer Matthews

Maria – nuns were of yesterday were the worst :( I can only hope the current crop has improved

Shelley – I LOVE walking after dinner but unfortunately we haven’t walked for pleasure since we moved to Cairo :(

  4. Amy M

    2 random things huh?

    1. I love all of the seasons. Right now we have tons of snow, and I love it. I love when everything is new in Spring, hot and sunny in Summer, and when the leaves change in Fall. I couldn’t live somewhere that didn’t have all of the weather changes!

    2. I hate to cook. I am not very good, but have improved over the years. I do love to bake, too bad you can’t eat cookies and pie for dinner!

  5. Kaye Manro

Finally catching up here! Random things about me? Well I love tomato sauce too, but that’s not so different. I can’t stand being on a crowded bus or train. And boy, do I get headaches often!

  6. RKCharron

    Hi Shelley :)
    Congratulations on the award.
I love to read so much I’ll read advertisements on billboards, etc when I’m out n about. I can’t help myself.
    I smile everytime I see a baby.
    :)

  7. Jaime

Hey Shelley, I too love tomato sauce! ;-) And I’m sorry for your loss.

Okay, two random factoids about me.

    1. I detest cardboard. The texture, the smell, the sound it makes…makes my skin crawl. It’s so bad, I’ll only open boxes with really great stuff inside.

    2. Thousand Island salad dressing is my favorite.

  8. Shelley Munro

Mary – I really like Mexican food too. We don’t have it very often, not at a restaurant, at any rate.

Maria – Scotty might have been a small dog, but she’s certainly left big paws to fill. We thought fostering would be a good way of giving to the SPCA.

Dead people – now that would be interesting…I think.

  9. Shelley Munro

Jenyfer and Maria – I don’t have much experience with nuns but have heard a few horror stories. I like to think they become a little better.

Jenyfer – no Cairo isn’t exactly a place that caters to people on foot. All that traffic was scary.

  10. Shelley Munro

Amy – I love all the seasons too. I guess I’d get used to less seasonal variation, but I do enjoy crunching autumn leaves and seeing spring blossums. Winter frosts always broadcast a cold but spectacular day and I like walking on long summer evenings.

  11. Shelley Munro

Kaye – anywhere that is crowded makes me jittery. I usually avoid sales because of all the people or go really, really early.

RK – babies and toddlers make me smile too. I love their toothless grins. BTW – I think you’ve worn me down with Twitter. Very soon I shall be twittering…watch this space…

  12. Shelley Munro

Jaime – now that is quirky. Lots of great things come in cardboard boxes.

  13. Helen Hardt

Two random things? Okay, I HATE goat cheese. I truly think it’s evil. And I used to be a belly dancer.

  14. Sherry S.

I’m a clean hand freak I wash my hands every time I turn around.
I’m a lottery addict. If I start playing the lottery I can’t quit.

  15. JK Coi

LOL, I get irritated whenever anyone beats my Wii scores too…or beats me at boardgames…or does better on tests…

I admit, I have a bit of a competitive streak

  16. Linda Henderson

Two things about me. I love potato chips, I know they aren’t good for me but I love them anyway. I’m afraid of heights, makes flying a real hassle.

  17. Debra Kayn

Congrats (lol you are very welcome!)

Great list too! Except, I’m jealous. Your hubby cooks. *sigh* Will he teach mine?
