Make Your Own Hand & Foot Scrub

During our last holiday one of the special activities on board the cruise ship was making beauty products using items from the pantry.

Below is one of the recipes:

Sweet Brown Sugar Scrub

1 part milk
4 parts brown sugar

Mix the sugar and milk together.

Apply to hands, scrub and rinse. This scrub makes the skin soft yet avoids the use of artificial ingredients. You can also use on elbows, feet, knees and other rough skin. Replace the milk with cream to make an extra silky, rich scrub.

This sounds so easy and great! Did you try it on the cruise? How much is “one part” exactly – or does it depend on how gross your feet and elbows are??

I’d like to know if you tried it and did it really work for you. Also like Jenyfer says, how much is one part? Any thing that combats dry skin in on my to try list!

That’s a great idea! I’m definitely going to try that.

Yes, it definitely makes your hands feel soft. I tried it on the ship as did the rest of the group of ladies. We were all very impressed with this scrub. So easy yet it definitely works. I intend to make more today since I have some left over cream.

One part can be anything – a tablespoon, half a cup, a cup. So for example if you use one tablespoon of milk or cream you’d use four tablespoons of sugar.

For me today I’m probably going to make enough to do my feet, knees, elbows and hands. I think I’ll use 2 tablespoons of cream and eight tablespoons of sugar. That should be plenty for me.
