Faces of China

One of my favorite things to do when visiting another country is to wander around the markets. I like to see the different types of food, and of course, do some people watching. These are some of the photos hubby and I took during our wanders.

The Chinese people enjoy sightseeing, and we encountered many groups of local tourists at the Great Wall, on the Yangtzee River and visiting the Terracotta men. They’re big on photography, and if we smiled at anyone we’d find ourselves in the middle of a photography session. This couple grabbed me to pose in their photo. In fact, most of our group ended up in their photos. It was a real hoot.

I enjoyed China. The funny thing was everyone wanted to touch or cut a piece off of my hair because they’d never seen blond hair before. Oh, and my friend, who is black, they kept wanting to touch her skin. We were celebrities over there. They are such nice people. I’m glad you had a good trip.

Ciara, we had a fab time, and I’d love to go back soon to see more of the country.
I can imagine them being curious about both you and your friend. They’re such lovely, friendly people.

I wish I could take such great people pictures. I get all self conscious and lose my nerve.

Most people don’t mind if you ask first.

Looks like loads of fun from what I see. And so much to do.

Angela – lots of fun indeed!

That is so funny that other people would grab you to be in their pictures. I’ve only had something like that happen once while I was taking my daughter trick or treating. Some tourists has seen us come out of the MGM Grand after a party there for the kids and my daughter and the other kids were in their halloween costumes and they stopped the kids and asked if they could take thier pictures. The kids loved it. lol

I bet they had cool costumes. I would have taken photos too because we don’t really celebrate halloween.

Wonderful photos – exactly the kind of pictures I like to take when I travel :) Only I usually don’t ask before I take a picture because when I have in the past, the people become self-conscious and still and lose the vibrancy I loved about them in the first place. I love my zoom lens :)
