An Antidote to Poison!

I’d like to welcome author Lexi Post with her new release Passion’s Poison. I just love Lexi’s cover and her premise sounds interesting too! Make sure you enter the giveaway below.

passionspoison_msrIn writing Passion’s Poison, I found myself with a unique heroine that I absolutely enjoyed. Beatrice Rappaccini has been born with poisons running through her body, thanks to a deranged ancestor, and in order to stay alive, she has had to have sex with men to expel her toxins through orgasms. Unfortunately, that makes the men very sick and actually put her high school boyfriend into a coma. Bea has coped with her unique problem by spending her weekends in the big city a couple hours away. She stays at a conference hotel, finds men for one-night stands, and is never with one man too many times. This has worked well until she met Zach Woodman, former logger turned chainsaw artist, who lived just a couple towns over.

Now, not only does Bea have no clue how to date the same man twice or have any kind of relationship, but she is also clueless about the finer points of sex. Due to her condition, it has always been about getting the man into bed and into her. Now, for the first time, she gets to experience all the other facets of sex and she is clearly less knowledgeable in those areas. Working with a female character who has had sex with multiple partners every weekend since puberty could have been tough, but Bea’s naivete came out naturally. She really was clueless about dating . . . and icicles ;-)

Of course, this throws Zach off as he expects her to act like most women. Basically, that she will call him the next day, or let him pick her up, but that isn’t Bea. Can you imagine having sex every week for years, but never having dated anyone long term except for the one man she put into a coma? Bea’s mother is of no help because she has relationships with four regular men. Luckily for Bea, her best friend, Kayla, has some experience, even having been engaged once. So she helps with advice.

It was fun to write such a unique character, especially for an erotic romance, and especially for such an honorable hunk like Zach J

Have you ever messed up during the dating process? Ever had a funny mistake in the game of relationships? Leave a comment or enter the rafflecopter and I will give an ecopy of my first book Masque to one lucky person.

Always, Lexi

Blurb for Passion’s Poison

Beatrice Rappaccini is tired of the one-night stands that keep her alive. Tired of the illness she causes when she releases her sexual poisons into her partners. But when she meets Zach Woodman, everything changes. Desperate for what she can’t have, she puts her heart and life on the line, ignoring the anonymous letters warning her to stay away from Zach.

Zach Woodman, logger turned chainsaw artist, has the perfect life, but no one to share it with after the deaths of the women he loved. Fascinated by the sexually experienced yet naïve Bea, he promises himself he will end their hot relationship before fate takes another beautiful woman from the world.

But he discovers Bea has no idea how to have a relationship, and he is perplexed by her strange behavior, hippie mother, six fathers and her request to give him every man’s sex fantasy. It is only when he might lose her that he realizes he must make a decision that will break his heart either way.

  3. The book sounds really good, and I agree that the cover is awesome.
I can’t really say that I have anything to add about the dating process…I married my high school sweetheart and haven’t had any other relationships. I’m sure he could think of something I messed up, but off the top of my head I’m not sure.

  4. Wow, your childhood sweetheart? That is so wonderful Jamie. To know your true love from the start and not have to make the mistake of dating others. That is awesome!
