Jocelyn Dex on Machetes and Other Things

Thursday Thirteen

Once again I have a guest blogger for Thursday Thirteen. I’d like to welcome fellow Ellora’s Cave writer Jocelyn Dex to my blog today. Over to Jocelyn…

Thanks for having me here today, Shelley. This is my very first Thursday Thirteen.

Thirteen Things I See in My Bedroom Right Now

Bedroom collage

1. One of my dogs snoozing in the laundry basket on top of CLEAN clothes that need to be put away. Now, they’re probably so furry that I’ll need to wash them again.

2. Another of my dogs sleeping in an unmade bed.

3. Pink piggy slippers.

4. My RomantiCon 2013 badge. What a good time RCon is. If you get a chance, go!

5. A 2013 Humane Society calendar on my wall. Note to self: Buy updated calendar.

6. Damon from the Vampire Diaries on the TV screen (via Netflix). Yum. :-)

7. A cat painting that I painted a few years ago.

8. A bottle of lube. :-)

9. A pair of fluffy black and pink skull socks.

10. A machete. What? Yep. Read my bio to find out why there’s a machete in my bedroom.

11. A small sock monkey.

12. A purple bra.

13. A photo of my husband and me on our wedding day. Note to self: Damn you were skinny. How about dropping a few (several) pounds?

And here’s a sneak preview of Jocelyn’s latest release:

Fin's FantasyTitle: Fin’s Fantasy

Series: Sempire Seductions, Book 3

Author: Jocelyn Dex

Genre: Erotic Paranormal Romance

Fin’s Fantasy Blurb

Navine is suffering Incubus addiction–a death sentence for any Sempire. When the search for a cure turns up only one rumor, Navine is horrified to learn the mutant Fin might be her only chance to live. Fearing the taint of the mutant more than fearing death, she continues to push him away as she tries to deny how his touch inflames her desire.

Fin was captivated by Navine the first moment their gazes locked but when she realized what he was–a male Sempire, a mutant, an abomination to the species–she’d rejected him. Burning with the need to touch her, taste her, he’ll do almost anything to save her even though she belittles him at every turn.

With time running out, passion must overcome prejudice to save Navine’s life and to grant Fin’s fantasy.

  1. I’m totally in love with Damon from the Vampire Diaries. Yum indeed.

Thanks for sharing the blurb, I love finding a new author and new book that sounds great. :)

  2. Mary, Yes Damon is such a yummy bad body. Thanks for stopping by! :-)

  3. The book looks awesome! And I’m so glad you’re ready for the Zombie apocolypse, Jocelyn. LOL!

  5. interesting bedroom

  6. Sandy, Messy bedroom. Ha. Thanks for stopping by!

  7. Gotta love the bedroom! And hey, what’s a bedroom without sleeping dogs, old calendars, a machete and lube? ;) Except for the calendars, it sounds kinda like mine.

The book sounds awesome, and now I have more added to my TBR pile. *grins* It towers, my pile does.

My TT is about my favorite fetish fiction from the early days of my journey! http://denaceleste.blogspot.com/2014/02/thursday-thirteen-top-13-fetish-fiction.html

  8. Dena,
Glad I’m not the only one with lots of stuff scattered around. I’ll check out your TT! Thanks for stopping by!

  9. In my mind I have put it all together, you in those socks, slippers and purple bra!

  10. Colleen,
You made me snort. :-) I think I’ll be wearing nothing but those items when the husband comes home. See what he thinks. Ha! Thanks for the idea.

  11. Animals definitely make for laundry issues. I don’t have any, yet am constantly finding friends’ pets all over my clothes — even stuff I’ve just taken out of the washer.

  12. Heather,
I’m constantly covered in fur. I love to wear black but it’s pointless in this animal house.
    Thanks for stopping by!

  13. I want the pink piggy slippers! *so jealous*

    Happy TT!

  14. Kimberly,
My pink piggies are super cute. My dogs always try to eat them off my feet. Ha. Thanks for stopping by!

  15. I have the same laundry problems with my cats.

  16. Alice,
I know. What is it about clean laundry that screams, “sleep on me”? Thanks for stopping by!

  17. Totally cute doggy!

    *hugs*
    Paige

    My TT is at http://paigetylertheauthor.blogspot.com/

  18. Paige,
Thanks. She’s a chihuahua/terrier mix. A total daddy’s girl. I’ll check out your TT. Haha. That sounds funny.

  19. This book sounds exciting and thrilling. And Damon…ahh!

  20. NAS
Thanks! And Damon is on the TV again. :)

  21. LOL – now I’m imagining the purple bra, the socks and slippers but you have the machete in hand too.

Thanks so much for your fun post, Jocelyn.

  22. Shelley
Now THAT would be the perfect accessory! HA!
Thanks for having me here today! :-)

  23. I think I’m the only woman alive who likes Stefan more than Damon. LOL. I used to love Vampire Diaries, but the past two seasons have been kind of underwhelming. Glad you stopped by the blog today, Jocelyn! LOVE that book cover!

  24. Stephanie,
Well, I’m glad someone is on team Stephen. Don’t want him to feel left out. Ha.
    Thanks for stopping by!
