Burano, the Colorful Venetian Island

During our visit to Venice we caught the vaporetto (waterbus) to nearby islands Murano and Burano. Murano is well known for glassmaking while Burano is famous for lace.

My favorite of the two was Burano with its colorful buildings.

    Oh, they really are colorful. There’s a street here in Las Vegas where you can find houses painted all colorful like these. But it’s in a bad part of town.

    There are some towns in Ireland that have colorful houses too. Seeing a street like this always makes me smile.
