Writers spend a lot of time waiting for decisions from editors, agents, publishers. Hurry up and wait. I’m not very good at waiting. Just saying, but patience or impatience makes a good topic for a Thursday Thirteen.

Are you a patient person?
I need to read these about twenty times each day. :)
Me too, Ciara.
I’ve heard a few of the above, but I need to make some posters of the others. Like Ciara, it wouldn’t hurt me to read them throughout the day!!
Somehow I don’t think reading will help. I’m getting worse as I get older :)
Not the most patient of people – but it depends on the thing. Some things I can be very patient about, others, not so much.
Good list of quotes.
That’s true. Some things are easier on the stress levels than others.
I’ve not heard a few of these…All of them make you think..Wonderful post…
Thanks, Savannah.
I was not patient as a young person. But age has a way of teaching you the error of our impatience.
LOL I think I’m getting worse with age!
It’s pretty obvious patience is a virtue, but most of the really successful people have little of it.
LOL then it’s called ambition or drive.
I am not participating this week, but wanted to say what an interesting post this is. There are many here I had not heard before. I try to be patient, but admit that is not always easy.
Thanks, Heather.
I totally need a little patience today as well.
Have a great day!

I hope you find it, Harriet. :)
I especially like #12. I believe short cuts generally lead to things be redone later, which takes longer!
Oh, no! Taking longer while suffering impatience? That doesn’t sound good.
I love your posts! This one is full of good advice, and I’ve actually been patient enough to read and think about it all!
LOL Steph. Thank you.
I really depends on the situation but I do think I am very patient. Especially with kids, pets, and people who are trying but just can’t ‘get it’, when I am trying to show them how to do something.
I have a sickly rat at home right now and I have to give him antibiotics twice a day. I mix the liquid in sme chocolate pudding and feed it to him but he will only eat it if I hold the spoon right in front of him. And while eating he’ll stop and clean his face, rest to chatter his teeth, move to a different part of the cage…lol Little bugger has me trained well. But I never lose patience with him, I just wait until he’s done doing whatever and try to get him to eat some more pudding.
Yes, it depends on the circumstances. Sometimes I can be very patient.
I hope your rat gets better soon. Chocolate pudding sounds like a wonderful treat,.
I’m going to print these out and put them up at work, that is when I need patience the most! :) My problem is “I want patience, and I want it now!” :)
Hope you have a great day!

Ah, the instant gratification thing. I hear you!
Oh dear…I’m going to out myself as an impatient person, I just know it! I can’t stand having patience sayings quoted at me. Everything has to happen now! or yesterday…yesterday works for me :)
LOL – I hope I didn’t upset your day too much.
marvelous !!
Thanks, Sandy.
Great TT!

When I was young, I knew I could outlast my adversaries, be they people or situations.
That is no longer true, so I have to be both more devious and more direct (an interesting combination).
I haven’t lost patience, I’ve just lost time.
