This month I’ve been writing up a storm. Since I write romance, I seem to be writing a lot of love scenes. Here’s a selection of words you might find in one of my love scenes.
Thirteen Words You Might Find In a Love Scene
1. Whimper
2. Rasp
3. Sensitive
4. Ache
5. Explode
6. Throb
7. Voluptuous
8. Decadent
9. Hunger
10. Ecstasy
11. Contraceptive
12. Kiss
13. Perfect
Since I write a lot of erotic romance I use a few naughtier words as well. I’ve given you a clean selection today.
What are some of your favorite words to write or read in a love scene?
You know, I hardly ever see the word “contraceptive” used in a love scene. Now and then someone will throw in a rubber or a condom, but that’s about it.
Thanks Shelley! I’ve just finished writing the last love scene in my wip, so these all made me smile.
How about caress. Great word list.
Happy T13!
Great list! I think I’ve used all of these except rasp. Happy Thursday!
I try not to use it too much, but I love a mewling sound when something feels really good. Thanks for sharing the cool list!
I like “rasp”. So many uses, so many possibilities. Heh.
Happy TT!
Nice list, I especially like “whimper” and “decadent”
Great list! Some of my faves are:
flesh
lush
tingle
Adelle – I like caress. I use that one quite a bit.
Darla – I haven’t used mewl much. I tend to have characters that purr because a lot of them are feline shifters.
Skylar – great suggestions. I’ve definitely used all of these this week.
I like them all…Such great words that have a big impact..
Great list!
*hugs*

Nice list, Shelley! I took this week off for Thanksgiving, since I knew I wouldn’t be home Thurs or Fri. I hope you enjoyed your wonderful hot weather in opposite land while some of us were freezing our butts off. None of Alice’s snow here, but the temp has been below freezing the last two days with bitter windchills. I am sooo not ready for winter!
Wonderful list!
One I’ve run into a few times over the last month is shuttle/shuttling. I know it seems weird but in the context of the scene(s) it works every time describe his motion.
