It’s winter here in New Zealand, and I’m looking out the window at the rain. I could do with some sun! This photo was taken on Waikiki Beach in Hawaii. Hubby and I were sitting at our favorite bar on the beach, drinks in hand and people watching, when I saw this cute little boy.
If you’re spending time in the sun today, tell me about it. Let me pretend it’s warm and summery here in New Zealand…
We’ve got a little too much sun right now. I wouldn’t mind getting some of your cooler weather.
LOL – we’re never satisfied when it comes to weather, are we?
Like Maria, we have too much sun this week. Half the US is currently experiencing excessive heat. Some places across the deep south have had triple digit temps three weeks running now.
Here in Southern Wisconsin, we’ve had temps in the 90s all week. Today was the worst, with a high of 97 (heat index of 110). Right now, at 10:30pm, it’s still 90F! Our normal July temps are mid to upper 80s.
The heat did not deter people from attending tonight’s Concert on the Square. The crowd was a little thinner than it would normally be, but still a huge turnout. The Wis. Chamber Orchestra was joined this week by special guests Arrival, and ABBA tribute band from Sweden.
They were AWESOME! Had the entire crowd, young and old, singing along and even on their feet dancing for the last four songs. Well worth braving the elements! We were glad we had multiple bottles of water with us. I actually refilled one of mine during intermission, and am still rehydrating.
So, that’s how I spent a hot summer evening in Wisconsin. ;)
Heather, I thought it sounded like fun when I heard about it at your blog. It’s the perfect way to spend a summer evening.
Oops…that was supposed to read “an ABBA tribute band” not “and.” :-S
I love the picture!
I couldn’t resist snapping it. He looked so cute.
I could do with some rain, though frankly, it’s supposed to be dry now, so I shouldn’t complain.
Some of you must have sent sun because it’s gorgeous today. I’m off for a walk with the puppy.
