It’s the time of the year where everywhere looks back and thinks of their favorite and sometimes least favorite things for the year. I thought I’d list my top romance reads for both print and e-books. NOTE: Most of the above books came out in 2009, but a few of these are 2008 releases. I read them this year and therefore they’ve made my list.

The interesting thing is that while I’ve read plenty of e-books this year, many of them have been by NY published authors. I’ve purchased far more books in e-format than print this year. There are some books in my to-read pile that I suspect would have made this list, if I’d had time to read them such as Tere Michaels’ Love & Loyalty and NJ Walters’ Alexandra’s Legacy. I’ve been drowning in edits for the last two months, which cuts into my reading time!
Which books made your “best of list” for 2009?
Here are a few:
Ebooks:
Faith Revisited – Madelyn Ford
Firsts – Rosalie Stanton
Desire to Die For – Jessica Lee
Master of the Mountain – Cherise Sinclair
Forbidden – Karen Erickson
Haunted Seduction – Morgan James
The Reluctant Dom – Tymber Dalton
And in Print:
Beloved Vampire – Joey W. Hill
Pride and Predjudice and Zombies – Seth Grahame Smith
Deep Kiss of Winter – Kresley Cole & Gena Showalter
Lover Avenged – J.R. Ward
A Witch’s Beauty – Joey W. Hill
A Vampire’s Claim – Joey W. Hill
There are a lot more, but there are the ones that come to mind (and yes, I adore me some Joey).

I have a lot more but it would take all day I also love Jayne Ann Krentz and Christine Feehan
Jaime – you obviously love paranormal as much as me!
Sherry – we don’t have many reads in common, although I see you like paranormal. I’m going to have to check some of these out.
I should have added that I read every Lora Leigh book that comes out. They haven’t made my top list but I wouldn’t miss a single one. I’m a big fan.
I don’t think I could make a top ten list. I can’t begin to remember all the books I’ve read this year. *g*
A few new-to-me authors on your list, Shelley. I’ll have to check them out. :-)
I’m with N.J. I have no idea what I ate for breakfast, never mind all the books I read this year! LOL But this is great, Shelley…I may try to come up with my own list for my blog. :)
NJ & Cari – I’m organized enough that I keep a basic spreadsheet of the books I read. I started it because I wanted to see how many books I read in a year. It’s also interesting to see the mix of genres I read. I’ve kept my spreadsheet for the last three years.
I’ve read so many great books this year, I couldn’t possible name them all. I really enjoyed Carly Phillips’ Lucky Charm and Lucky Streak. I haven’t got the third one yet.
I like the name “The Ghost Wore Yellow Socks.”
Car Goes Boom
Shelley, I’ve been awful this year about tracking! I need to start doing that again so I can tell what I’ve been reading :) Sarah Mayberry’s definitely on my list of best books–she’s an amazing writer. I also jumped on the Ann Aguirre bandwagon this year–I read her first two in the Jax series and her new Ava Gray. I’m currently reading Shelly Laurenston’s Dragon books, and giggling to myself as I read. :)
