One of the things that hubby and I have wanted to do for ages is drive around in a convertible. We didn’t want just any convertible. We wanted to drive a Mustang convertible. In fact a Mustang was my husband’s dream car when he was a teenager.
Fast forward to our stop in Hilo, Hawaii. We hired a nice fire-engine red Mustang convertible for the day.
It was a gorgeous day, and we had great company (another couple we met on board the Dawn Princess). We drove from Hilo up to the Waipi’o Valley.
Did I mention we drove a Mustang? It was a really smooth ride, and according to hubby, great to drive.
The Waipi’o valley is beautiful – the road ends and you look down on a wide, flat valley. There’s a black sand beach and the surf crashes onto it. Here’s a photo of me (in the hat I purchased at the Sydney Royal Easter show) with the valley behind me.
It was a fun day, and we have one less thing on our bucket list.
What is one thing that’s on your bucket list?
Everyone looks sexier in a beautiful red car!
Our first convertible was an MGB. Great memories, but I never liked the wind in your face rides. I looked like Medusa if I forgot my hat.
Ref: bucket list
hmm…I don’t know. There are so many things left to do. Right now I’d settle for a new knee.
I hadn’t really thought about a bucket list yet. But I’d love to own and fly my own small airplane. My uncle taught me a bit about flying when I was a kid. He take me up in his small two seater and it was like touching the sky! I’ll never forget it. It has been a dream of mine since then. So I guess you could say that is a bucket list thing.
I don’t have a bucket list…never really thought about it but I guess that I should. I’m not even sure what I would put on it though.
Isn’t it great to just splash out every once in a while?! :) It’s a beautiful car… I bet it sounded great too!
One think on my bucket list is to take the train ride from one side of Canada to the other….I understand that the country is beautiful and the trainride is great.
Maria – red is THE color to get. No doubt about that!
Kaye – it’s weird, but the more I travel and fly, the less I like it. I’m always pleased to stand on land at the end of a flight. I’ve heard that flying a small plane is very addictive though.
Maria – just doing the things you enjoy is working on your bucket list. You’re probably doing it without even realizing.
Nikki-ann – it did sound great, sort of a throaty roar. It was a pity we couldn’t let loose on some straight road. There were lots of cops around so we had to stick to the speed limit.
Jackie – I’ve heard that the train rides in Canada are very spectacular. My sister did a sector on the West coast and loved it.
Sweet ride! I always wanted a little pearl white Jaguar. When I win the lottery. lol
That’s a nice car right there. Glad you had so mcuh fun.
One thing from my bucket list would be to go to Scotland and visit the castles.
Debra – a pearl white Jaguar sounds good to me! Hubby and I are waiting to win the lottery too. We want to do some more traveling and in specific, China.
Mary – I hope you get to Scotland. It really is a beautiful place, We stayed at a castle that had been turned into a Youth Hostel. It was full of children on a school trip and they spent all their time running up and down the passages looking for ghosts. All respectable ghosts would have run a mile.
