I’ve been thinking about food a lot this week, mainly because I’m having a bit of cut back and watching what I eat. I like food. One of my favorite meals is pasta. I love pasta and can eat it for several meals in a row. It’s a real comfort food for me. I’m also a big soup fan. There’s nothing better than a big bowl of soup with a couple of pieces of Vogel’s toast when the weather gets cooler. When it comes to dessert, I’d have to say ice cream, although I’m savvy enough not to buy ice cream these days. It doesn’t stay in my freezer for long!
What are your favorite comfort foods? Does your preference change with the seasons?
Ooh tough one.
Blackberry pie. Pizza. Chocolate, of course:)
Meatless taco salad. I could go on, but I’ll stop:) Happy Friday:)
You sound like me, Shelley. I love pasta, soup w/bread, and ice cream too. In the summer I really love salads– all sorts of salads!
Hello Shelley,
My comfort foods tend to change depending on the season. Fall/Winter, I prefer soups, chili and a good roast. Spring/Summer, it’s all about the fresh vegetables and fruits. Have a great day.
Bread! It’s my downfall. It goes with everything.
Not much a sweets person, but the carbs call my name. Wish they didn’t!!
Hi Shelley! Good crusty bread and Vermont cheddar cheese soup. Yum! Nothing like comfort food.
I think about food all the time. I love to eat. Love it more than writing. Especially cheese, anything with cheese on it. And butter. Butter is a food group of its own for me. Yeah…I need to diet. Sigh…
Ooh, fresh bread and cheese. Nothing better! I used to enjoy having Ploughman’s Lunches in England – cheese, fresh bread, a little salad and pickles. Very yummy!
Yumm I love food too, and have to say roast turkey and all the trimmings is my fave, then roast beef with all the trimmings… hahaha… Love Pizza too and oh yes ploughman’s lunch in an English village pub, heaven!!!
My comfort foods are homemade macaroni & cheese, roast chicken with mashed potatoes, and chili. They don’t really change because of the season, I always want them. In the summer I crave fresh peaches from the orchard down the road, but I wouldn’t call that a comfort food.
I love, love plain potato chips, lasagna and peanuts no matter the season.
